So now I still don’t have a clue as to what praying in tongues for 2 years many hours a day has done, if anything, but many things have changed and I have no more fear of anything.

Construction work has picked back up and so I am back in the remodeling work, and I would work awhile and then we would go on a mission trip to some country, then come back and work some more and then go again.

I want to relate to you just how one miracle happened on the travel side of things.

I was always bothered by how much travel cost and what that money could be used for if we didn’t have to pay for the tickets every time.

So I prayed about it and ask GOD to show me a way to travel cheaper than we were currently doing. After a bout 10 months and many thousands of $$$ in tickets later, a friend of my late brother stopped by our house to visit.

I and my brother had lived next door to this guy for many years when we were growing up and he was my brothers best friend.

He worked many years for a major airline and every year he got 20 companion passes to give out to friends and family so that they could fly SPACE AVAILABLE for a much reduced price. (if there where empty seats you could go, if not, you would have to wait for the next flight)

He said that his family never used the passes for fear they would not be able to get on a flight and mess up there schedule, so he ask me IF I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE THEM AS HE NEW WE TRAVELED A LOT IN MISSIONS.

I said, ARE YOU KIDDING ME, YES I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE THEM.

He said, ok……AND…..TO HELP YOU IN YOUR MISSION WORK I WILL PAY THE TAX ON THE TICKETS SO YOU WILL BE ABLE TO FLY FOR…

FREE

WELL HOW MANY OF YOU NO THAT……THAT CHANGED EVERYTHING, WOW, NOW WE WERE ABLE TO FLY FOR FREE ANYWHERE THAT AIRLINE FLEW IN THE WORLD, AND THEY FLEW JUST ABOUT EVERYWHERE.

Now I want to tell you the rest of the story about how and why this happened.

5 or so years before this happened, this friend of my brother and I was transferred to San Francisco for his work with the airline, and he did not like it there at all. Over a period of years he got very depressed and frustrated about His situation and did not know what to do about it.

One evening he decided that the only way out would be……….SUICIDE..…………so he got his car keys and was headed for the door to go to the Golden State bridge and jump off.

As he was headed for the door….THE PHONE RANG…..he stopped for a second and then decided to answer it.

IT WAS MY BROTHER CALLING HIM, AND BEFORE THE CONVERSATION WAS OVER, MY BROTHERS FRIEND GOT BORN AGAIN AND DELIVERED FROM THE SPIRIT OF SUICIDE.

After my brother passed away this friend stayed in close contact with me as I was the only connection to my brother for him, AND THAT IS WHY THIS FRIEND CAME AND OFFERED TO ME THE FLY FREE DEAL.

Well this is just one of many miraculous events that transpired over the next 17 years.

One day a few years after I had prayed in the Spirit for those 2 years (btw I was still praying in the Spirit) my mother found out about it and said she knew of a book that a guy had wrote about the vital role of praying in tongues, and she gave it to me.

It was titled THE WALK OF THE SPIRIT THE WALK OF POWER by Dave Roberson

AS I read the book I COULD NOT BELIEVE WHAT I WAS READING……THIS BOOK WAS EXPLAINING IN DETAIL……EVERYTHING THAT HAD HAPPENED AND TOOK PLACE AS I WAS PRAYING IN THE SPIRIT FOR THOSE 2 YEARS.

THIS WAS UN REAL, BUT YET THERE IT WAS IN A BOOK, AND I HAVE NEVER FOUND ANYTHING THAT EXPLAINS IT SO CLEARLY AND PROFOUNDLY, I WAS IN COMPLETE SHOCK TO FIND OUT WHAT I FOUND OUT.

SO FOR THE NEXT PERIOD OF MONTHS I WILL DO A BOOK REPORT OF SORTS, AND GO THRU THE TREMENDOUS TRUTHS ON THIS SUBJECT OF PRAYING IN TONGUES.

WHY? BECAUSE IT IS SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO IMPORTANT AND THE dEVIL HAS BEEN SUCCESSFUL IN HIDING IT, AND KEEPING IT FROM………..

75 % OF THE CHURCH

I LEARNED MORE IN THIS BOOK THAN I DID IN SUNDAY MORNING SERVICES FOR 30 YEARS.

Larry, if you are ever going to do what I have called you to do…………………………

NOW….WOULD BE THE TIME

I heard those words LOUD AND CLEAR COMING UP OUT OF MY SPIRIT, AND I COULD NOT GET THEM OUT OF MY MIND.

I began to understand that you can go your whole lifetime and NEVER, EVER, EVER, DO WHAT GOD HAS CALLED YOU TO DO (BTW, GOD HAS CALLED EVERYONE TO DO SOMETHING IN THE BODY OF CHRIST, BESIDES WARMING A PEW). MANY PEOPLE

JUST TALK ABOUT IT…..DREAM ABOUT IT……CRY ABOUT IT……THINK ABOUT IT…….

BUT NEVER JUST DO IT

WHY???????????? BECAUSE WE HAVE SO MANY EXCUSES (I WROTE A MINI BOOK CALLED LIFE AFTER YOUR….LAST EXCUSE), THAT SAME NIGHT I REALIZED THAT I WAS ALL OUT OF EXCUSES…..I JUST DIDN’T HAVE ANY MORE EXCUSES LEFT, AND I WAS GOING TO SOMEHOW HAVE TO STEP INTO THE PLAN OF GOD FOR MY LIFE, AND I WAS GOING TO HAVE TO DO IT…….N O W.

BBBBUT, BUT, BUT, BROTHER LARRY, I DON’T EVEN KNOW WHAT GOD HAS CALLED ME TO DO, I MEAN I DON’T KNOW WHICH ONE OF THE 8 OPERATIONS OF GOD I AM CALLED TO (BTW EVERYONE IN THE BODY OF CHRIST IS CALLED INTO ONE OR MORE OF THE 8 OPERATION OF GOD) SO HOW CAN I DO WHAT I HAVEN’T EVEN DISCOVERED YET ?????

GOOD NEWS MY FRIEND, JUST KEEP READING THESE BLOG POSTS AND YOU WILL FIND OUT EXACTLY HOW TO FIND OUT WHAT YOU ARE CALLED TO, AND HOW TO GET QUALIFIED FOR THAT CALL AND HAVE TO POWER TO PREFORM THAT CALL, ITS ALL COMING SOON ON THIS BLOG, SO MUCH TRUTH THAT WILL SET YOU FREE, ITS SO AMAZING, PLEASE DON’T MISS IT.

THE NEXT THING I BEGAN TO NOTICE WAS….ALL FEAR WAS GONE, I HAD NO FEAR OF LIVING, DYING, FAILING, SUCCEEDING, STAYING, GOING, ALL FEAR OF MAN AND EVERYTHING ELSE …………………. WAS GONE.

NOW DON’T GET ME WRONG, IT WAS A TOUGH TIME EMOTIONAL, GOING THRU THE DIVORCE, THE DEATH OF MY BROTHER, AND I QUIT THE TRUCK DRIVING JOB ALSO.

I KNEW I HAD A CALL TO….MANY LANDS AND MANY PEOPLES.….AND IN A SHORT TIME I NOTICED MANY THINGS CHANGING.

ONE WAS THAT THE PEOPLE I HAD BEEN WITH FOR MANY YEARS BEGAN TO JUST KIND OF FADE AWAY AND AT FIRST I DIDN’T UNDERSTAND THAT AT ALL, ITS LIKE I WAS INVISIBLE TO THEM.

THEN THE HOLY SPIRIT SHOWED ME THAT WHEN HE MOVES YOU ON, NOT EVERYONE IS GOING TO GO WITH YOU, IN FACT NONE OF THEM WHEN WITH ME, BUT THAT’S OK ITS ALL IN THE TIMING OF GOD.

THEN I HAD AN OPPORTUNITY TO GO BACK TO INDIA ON A MISSION TRIP FOR A MONTH, GOD PROVIDED AND I WENT.

THEN I HAD AN OPPORTUNITY TO GO TO RUSSIA ON A MISSION TRIP, GOD PROVIDED AND I WENT.

THEN A FEW YEARS LATER I REMARRIED AND WE TRAVELED THE WORLD FOR THE NEXT 17 YEARS TO MANY LANDS AND MANY PEOPLES,

DOING EVERYTHING FROM PASTORS CONFERENCES, EVANGELISTIC CRUSADES, BUILDING ORPHANAGE BUILDINGS, TEACHING IN BIBLE SCHOOLS, TRACKING ( PUTTING OUT THOUSANDS OF TRACKS AT NIGHT, GOSPEL TRACKS) IN MANY DIFFERENT CHINESE CITIES, SMUGGLING BIBLES INTO CHINA (MY GOOD FRIEND BRIEN WENT WITH ME ON ONE OF THOSE TRIPS AND HE WILL NEVER FORGET THAT ONE, I GOT CAUGHT AT THE BEIJING AIRPORT).

I COULD TELL STORIES FOR MONTHS OF GODS, PROVISION, PROTECTION, MERCY, GRACE, LOVE, REVELATION, AND GUIDANCE.

IN THOSE 17 YEARS I FELT LIKE WE HAD LIVED A FEW LIFETIMES AS OF ALL THE TRAVEL AND PLACES WE HAD NEVER DREAMED OF SEEING, BUT WE DID.

HOW IN THE WORLD COULD I HAVE COME FROM THE JOB THAT I HATED SO MUCH, IN THE TRUCK, TO TRAVELING THE WORLD, (HAITI, FRANCE, BELGIUM, IRAN, ISRAEL, INDIA, MEXICO, GUATEMALA, COSTA RICA, PANAMA, RUSSIA ITALY, JAPAN, THAILAND, LAOS, BURMA, RWANDA, KENYA, ZAMBIA, ETC, ETC, CROSSED THE PACIFIC OCEAN 52 TIMES AND THE ATLANTIC I CANT REMEMBER (TO GOD BE THE GLORY)

AND MOST OF IT IN BUSINESS CLASS SEATING ON A MAJOR AIRLINE, AND MOST OF THE FLIGHTS……….

FOR FREE

HOW COULD THIS POSSIBLE BE????

FROM THE TRUCK…..TO THE TRAVEL

FROM THE PEW…..TO THE PLANE

FROM THE BELIEVING TO THE FULFILLMENT

OH I WONDER WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF I…..

PRAYED IN THE SPIRIT (TONGUES) INSTEAD OF BEGGING GOD IN ENGLISH

So I went inside with her and sat down in one of the pews and she said, Larry…………….

ITS YOUR BROTHER……HE HAD A HEART ATTACK ABOUT AN HOUR AGO………………………….

AND THEY COULD NOT SAVE HIM

I said; ARE YOU KIDDING ME, she said no, am so sorry, I thought, NO NOT MY BROTHER, NO NOT MY BROTHER, HOW COULD THIS BE.

She then said, the Pastor is on the way to the house and did I need to make any phone calls I could use the office phone. I was completely numb, but did call my parents and tell them that DAN their oldest son had passed away, they said they would meet me at Dan’s house.

As I drove to his house my mind was racing in a million different directions, wow what would happen now, He was just recently remarried, the new house would be built soon, He had a whole new life in front of him…….but now at just 52 all of that was gone, in just a moment of time, what was yesterday……NOW WAS GONE.

I walked into His house and he was lying on the floor with a tube in his mouth, I could not believe my eyes, as time passed the whole family was there and finally after some attempts to raise him from the dead had failed (I am sure he didn’t want to come back) the coroner zipped up the body bag and they put him in the back of a black van.

I watched the tail lights of that van disappear into the darkest night of my life.

So my best friend and only brother was now gone and I haven’t seen him since, it will be 24 years ago this October 2nd.(now I am the only one left in my family)

Well to say the least I was a mess, and a few months later I quit the truck driving job, and another driver said to me so what are you going to do now? I said I don’t know BUT I AM NOT GOING TO DO THIS ANYMORE.

He said BUT..BUT…BUT…WHAT ABOUT YOUR RETIREMENT, I SAID; WHAT ABOUT IT, MY BROTHER WORKED FOR MANY YEARS AT A STRESS FILLED JOB HE DIDN’T LIKE AND HES NOT GOING TO SEE ANY OF HIS RETIREMENT BECAUSE HES DEAD, AND I AM NOT GOING TO STAY HERE UNTIL IT KILLS ME. (I found out a few years later this same man died a few years before he would have gotten his retirement)

Then a few months later the marriage of 18 years ended, the death of my brother, my job gone, and divorce all in the period of just 3 or 4 months.

Well I was COMPLETELY SIDEWAYS (VERY LOST FEELING) I DIDN’T SEEM TO CARE ABOUT ANYTHING AND DIDN’T CARE IF I LIVED OR DIED, I JUST WANTED TO DISAPPEAR.

I had not really noticed because of all of the storm that was raging around me, BUT I HAD COMPLETELY STOPPED PRAYING IN THE SPIRIT (TONGUES)

One day the Holy Spirit said to me…WHY HAVE YOU STOPPED PRAYING IN THE SPIRIT?

I SAID; WELL IN CASE YOU HAVEN’T NOTICED………………………………………………………………

MY WHOLE WORLD JUST FELL APART

AND MAYBE ALL OF MY PRAYING IN THE SPIRIT HAS MADE THE dEVIL MAD AND HES TRYING TO KILL AND DESTROY ME.

THE HOLY SPIRIT SAID, LARRY…….

ALL OF THESE THINGS WERE GOING TO HAPPEN ANYWAY, YOUR PRAYING IN THE SPIRIT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THESE THINGS HAPPENING.

BUT NOW BECAUSE YOU HAVE BEEN SO BUILT UP IN THE INNER MAN (THE SPIRIT MAN) JUDE 20

INSTEAD OF THESE THINGS THAT HAVE HAPPENED DESTROYING YOU, NOW YOU WILL BE ABLE TO NOT ONLY TO SURVIVE THEM…. BUT THRIVE IN SPITE OF THEM.

So get back to praying in the Spirit.

WOW, OK I will get back to praying, now keep in mind I still have no clue as to what praying in the Spirit is doing, if anything. (in the months to come we will find out exactly what is does and how it does it)

ONE VERY IMPORTANT THING THAT HAPPENED AS I WAS DRIVING AWAY FROM MY BROTHERS HOUSE THAT DARK NIGHT OF HIS DEATH WAS THAT THE HOLY SPIRIT SPOKE SO CLEARLY TO ME AND SAID.

But since nothing was changing around me and I was still in the truck, maybe I would just……………………………………

KEEP ON PRAYING IN THE SPIRIT (TONGUES)

I had nothing to lose, and everything to gain, you have to understand something here, I WAS IN DESPERATION MODE, I NEEDED TO FIND SOMETHING THAT WOULD WORK IN MY LIFE AND I WAS NOT GOING TO STOP UNTIL I HAD IT.

So 1994 started out the same as 1993 praying in the Spirit everyday 6-7-8-9-hours a day and on weekends as well. You can pray in the Spirit while watching TV, driving the car, walking around, doing the dishes, visiting in laws (when your not in conversation of course) so many places you can pray quietly in the Spirit under your breath and no body knows.

As we continue on this subject we will go into detail as to what exactly takes place when you are praying in the Spirit, but at this time I HAD NO CLUE IF ANYTHING WAS TAKING PLACE BY MY PRAYING IN THE SPIRIT.

So I would pray in the Spirit on my way to Seattle and beyond, and the Holy Spirit would talk to me on the way back, and He would give me revelation on things, and I would practice preach in the truck and that would become invaluable later on when I was given the opportunity to speak in the building where the Church had gathered (we are the Church….not the building).

Well it would take a book to begin to convey everything that happened that 2nd year of praying in the truck, and just to be open and honest about this time I need to add that there were times when I would realized that I had stopped praying, and my mind had wondered off somewhere else.

Then I would think what happened I was praying and now am not, and then I would go back to praying again, it was a process, but once you get the water flowing then its hard to shut it off, you are praying and don’t even realize it.

At this time I am still separated from my wife, and things are not getting any better, I still hate my job but realize I am getting paid to pray, it is still taking all the faith I have to keep going to the building on Sunday mornings and listening to….to much of not enough (by now I have figured out I can get fed from other awesome people of GOD and grow thereby). Life is still a mess, and not changing for the better at all.

Now its the beginning of October 1994 and things are the same as always, and then on Sunday October 2 I am in the building where the Church had gathered, and I am sitting next to my brother (and my best friend) and we are talking about mission trips, and he said he wanted to go with me on a mission trip some day.

After the service we were helping put away chairs (we were meeting in a high school gym) and then just before he left he said; that he had not gotten a job promotion that he had put in for and he was feeling so down, and that he thought that his identity was still in his job.

I told him I would stop by later that afternoon and we could talk about it (we talked almost everyday about many things) and he said OK see you then.

Later that day my wife called and said one of the girls waterbed had a leak and would I come by and fix it, so I went there instead of my brothers.

I did not have time to go to my brothers house after fixing the waterbed, so instead just went to a building where the church was meeting that evening, I parked and decided to wait for my brother to show up and go in with him.

As I was waiting a lady came outside and ask me to come inside, I told her I would but I was waiting for my brother to come first, she said can you please come inside?

So I went inside with her and sat down in one of the pews and she said, Larry…………….
