COMING TO THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE TRUTH

Well its hard to know where to start on this subject but suffice it to say, the term Christian does not mean the same thing as it did in 1972 when they said I was now a Christian. Then it was generally believed that a Christian was a person who was born again / from above / spiritually and in most cases baptized in water, and filled or baptized in / with the Holy Spirit and had the gift of tongues, and believed the Bible to be the word of God, etc,etc.

Now in the latter part of 2017 Christian could mean any number of things and beliefs, that range from fringe doctrines and practices to outright cults and sects. Many who are identifying themselves as Christian today are not even born again / from above so have no idea what is truly going on spiritually.

The Catholic and Eastern Orthodox churches broke communion with each other in the East–West Schism of 1054. Protestantism came into existence in the Protestant Reformation in the 16th century, splitting from the Catholic Church.^[25]

So when someone ask me if I am a Christian now….my answer is ALWAYS NO…..the reason, because whatever there particular view of Christians or Christianity is ..is how they will view me if I say I am a Christian and I don’t want to be identified as being part of a religion.

In the description above Christianity is just one of several major RELIGIONS.

IT IS A RELATIONSHIP, WHERE WE ARE TRANSLATED FROM THE KINGDOM OF DARKNESS INTO THE KINGDOM OF LIGHT.

WE BECOME SPIRITUALLY ALIVE AND OUR SPIRITUAL EYES ARE OPENED AND WE CAN SEE CLEARLY WHAT THIS WORLD IS ALL ABOUT.

NOW WE CAN ONCE AGAIN BE IN FELLOWSHIP WITH GOD AND HAVE THAT PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS AND BE LED AND FED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT.

So my answer to ” am I a Christian? is …no.…the next question is usually then what are you? My answer is I am a BELIEVER.….next question, believer in what? And now we are getting somewhere…. ah I am a believer in Jesus Christ.

The word of god says that who so ever BELIEVETH / BELIEVES IN HIM (JESUS) WOULD NOT PERISH BUT HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE.

JESUS NEVER CALLED US TO BE CHRISTIANS HE CALLED US TO BE BELIEVERS, THE ROMANS FIRST CALLED BELIEVERS CHRISTIANS .

its just a brand name and we don’t need brand names, the early believers where also know as followers of the the way or people of the way. When I was a director at a school for challenged teens, I was speaking on Sundays a lot, and one Sunday morning I said : you know there will be no Catholics in heaven, no Baptist in heaven, no Lutherans in heaven, no evangelicals in heaven, or Pentecostals etc,etc.

Some kids where so upset, some even told their parents and they where upset, but I told them the only people who are in heaven are

BELIEVERS……… IN JESUS

There is only ONE CHURCH.….and its not a building, its a people , the one JESUS is building, that’s all…one Church, the body of Christ…..many parts, but one body.

There will be no denominations, divisions, or factions in heaven, as those are completely man made.
