hello and welcome to another edition of ACTS 29 TODAY (NOW ITS YOUR TURN)
Heb 12:1
Therefore then, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses [ who have borne testimony to the Truth], let us strip off and throw aside every encumbrance [unnecessary weight]. And that sin which so readily (deftly and cleverly ) CLINGS to and entangles us, and let us run with patient endurance, and steady and active persistence the appointed course of the race that is set before us.
The 5 wise virgins took EXTRA OIL WITH THEM and that was the difference between them and the foolish virgins. Most people believe the extra oil is the baptism of the Holy Spirit and the continual presence of God in our lives that keeps the light N us burning. Also when they awoke the light was needed to make their final preparations for the wedding feast.
It also says the extra oil was purchased and that they could not give the foolish their oil but to go and buy for themselves, to B continually filled with His presence requires a COST, it takes TIME, EFFORT, AND A COMPLETE DEATH OF OUR FLESHLY DESIRES.
Case N point, I was teaching and extorting at the Sunday services for a school for challenged teens that I worked at N Kanab Utah. After some time I had to leave that position and go to Costa Rica to start a program there for the school, the owner of the school picked a man to take my place and said can you teach him to do the services like you do them. I said no way Hosea!!! how can I give him what it took me YEARS AND YEARS OF TIME SPENT (the cost)N HIS PRESENCE TO GET. NOT TIME SPENT IN THE BUILDING ON SUNDAY MORNINGS….BUT PERSONAL TIME SPENT WITH HIM. IF ALL WE HAVE R SUNDAY MORNINGS…ITS NOT NEAR ENOUGH…AND WE WILL B STUNTED N OUR GROWTH.

In these LAST DAYS OF THIS AGE IT IS OF UPMOST IMPORTANCE THAT WE …NOT...WASTE, SPEND, OR KILL TIME ON THINGS THAT HAVE NO ETERNAL VALUE.
tIME IS THE CURRENCY OF THIS WORLD, …..NOT MONEY. YOU CAN HAVE ALL THE MONEY N THE WORLD, BUT WHEN YOU RUN OUT OF TIME, YOUR MONEY CANNOT BUY YOU ANYMORE TIME. YOU CAN RUN OUT OF MONEY AND STILL HAVE MORE TIME. GOD HAS GIVEN US ALL SOME TIME….HOW WILL WE ..SPEND IT???????

The Holy Spirit (oh how wonderful He is to me) spoke to me about making some changes this new year. I wont go into all the details, but one thing was to stop playing the online pool game that I had started playing last year when I was bored. The game in and of itself was not a sin, but it had become a CLING ON, a weight, something unnecessary and a great TIME THIEF N THE RACE THAT WAS SET BEFORE ME.
The game kept records of stuff like, how many games I had won, my average, and awards that I had won, and then at the bottom was a record of the TIME I HAD SPENT PLAYING POOL…..44 days….after 1 year, 44 days wow so amazing I had wasted 44 days doing something just to take my mind off of whatever was going on N my life and it was a very hard time then, BUT instead of investing that 44 days turning to God for my comfort I had turned to an online game.(now you no why I don’t accept invitations to play farmville or any other online game).
I have now stopped completely, but it took some time as I would fall back and play a few games, but now that time has been replaced with more time in the word, and fellowship with the Holy Spirit.
Another thing was stop watching so much news on tv, Christian or otherwise as it is just the rehashing of stuff over and over X 100, this also has given me more TIME TO SPEND ON THINGS ABOVE.
BLAH BLAH BLAH
One more I can share and this one is not easy and it is said that this addiction is 6 times more addicting than cocaine….yes you can probably guess……SUGAR. Comfort food is usually high in sugar, and yes sugar is an addiction and more people R probably addicted to it than all of the other drugs known to man, and I am talking about the processed refined sugar not the natural thaT IS N FRUITS.
So I have started slowly on this one, and the first is ice cream… OH NO NOT ICE CREAM, and where I live its hot all year and it is so refreshing to have a cold ice cream, but it has been 30 days now, but not always easy when others at the same table R having chocolate chip blizzards from DQ. I have not done so well on cookies as they R my all time favorites, but the donuts R gone to. I have a long way to go on this one but slowly with Gods grace I will move on towards a more sugar free life.
One thing I learned right after I was born again was that Christians did everything around food, they loved to eat and eat a lot of junk, cookies,cakes, ice cream and pop, oh and donuts, it was amazing and sadly to say many have died from bad eating but its one of those things they don’t want to talk about to much.

Just so you know, I am just trying to B REAL something that is N short supply these days, I struggle with sin and cling on’s and all the other stuff we all deal with every day, all of the issues that the Holy Spirit reveals is so they can B healed, God already knows the struggles, the thoughts, and everything that is still an issue N our lives….run to Him…not away from Him.
Well I did not really get into the meat (no pun intended) of this verse so I will continue next time with CLING ON’S AND OTHER STUFF PT 2
