Acts 29 Today

This is just an update from a longtime friend of mine that lives in America. He told me the last time I visited him that he got kicked out of the church that he had attended for a long time, because he didn’t believe tithing was a new testament practice.

I assured him that he had not gotten kicked out of the Church, but only the BUILDING that people think is the Church.

As we talked about this great deception that so many Pastors R caught up in he related this story also to me.

That was good ( the last post) and I like the non condemning spirit they are teaching in.

About 15 years ago while I was studying legal terms for a securities licensing test my daughter called me and said she went to church at _____ and the Pastor quoted Malachi 3:8-9. She said that since they hadn’t been going to church they hadn’t given anything so she was afraid something bad might happen to her daughters. I reassured her that tithing wasn’t part of the new testament and God wouldn’t ever hurt her children. When I got off the phone I looked at the next word in my study of financial terms. It was the word “extortion” the definition says ”

: the crime of getting money from someone by the use of force or threats of bodily harm.”

I immediately turned to Malachi 3:9 and understood that my daughter and most people would take that verse as a threat or a warning.

Once when I ask a good friend who brought up that they never miss paying there tithe and the were actually getting behind on their bills because it. When I ask what would happen if you paid your bills first and gave some of what was left? There was a long pause then the reply “I would be afraid something bad might happen to my kids!”

It’s hard to believe how blind people can be but I’m understanding more and more just how powerful deception is and that many teachers of deception are even bigger victims of a corrupt religious system.

Well this is what its come to, just blows my mind, so if your one whose been brought up from day 1 that tithing is new testament, and extorted out of you’re $$$ thru fear and manipulation / and or the man made prosperity massage.
